Maybe that's because the site has been plagued by technical issues since forever.
While I have a huge amount of respect for Jack Dorsey, I'm rather underwhelmed by the technological achievements of this lot. Maybe if they spent less time prettying up their swanky new office and more time actually getting Twitter to work properly, I may change my mind. It's quite clear that even large technical issues and outages aren't going to derail Twitter from serving a long overdue need being tapped into. When you look at how long Twitter have been running, since July 2006, and how few changes they've made to the system and how much criticism they've amassed, you really have to wonder what they do all day, besides tweet. Maybe they are distracted by their Apple gear? I may just cut them some slack :)
